Character line up

We pick the following shapes for our character for the shape exploration.

We choose this shape for among the triangles because physically the character looks hunchback and skinny, which show that his malnutrition. Personality wise, the shapes gives off the feeling of unmotivated, sluggish, being lazy, sloppy,  over-reliance and never satisfied.

We decided to go with square for the rich man because we wanted him to be someone who's dependable. We feel that this design fits it well as it gives off the feeling of someone you can rely on as well as generosity since he's quite circular despite looking like a square. He's quite fat and chubby looking because we wanted to show he's wealthy and have been well-fed -- A huge contrast to the beggar.

As for the dog it is generally circular overall, because we wanted it feel bouncy and active. In terms of personality wise, we want the dog to have a loyal and straight forward personality especially towards the beggar. At the same time, he's adorable, unguarded and approachable towards the passer-by.

  1. It's looking good.
Where is the waist line in these character? Are you going for short torso or small torso?
That's the next step, play with proportions within the characters.
